Commencement exercises of Aiken
High school will be held tomorrow
evening. There will be 22 graduates.
A Jacksonville (Fla) shipbuilding
firm has been awarded government
contracts for 12 wooden and 4 steel
vessels.
Greenville has been selecfed as a j
divisional training camp. It is probable
that 30,000 soldiers will be j
trained there, v
The Woman's market at Aiken, j
.piobably the only one in the South, j
was started Saturday and is proving !
very succesfful.
About 1,000 barrels of Irish pota- j
toes have been shipped from the
Charleston and Beaufort sections so
far this season.
A charter has been issued to the
McNamee Kaolin company of Bath,
Aiken county, with a capital stock
of $150,000. The officers are New
York men.
A commission has been issued to
the Williams company of Gieenville,
with a proposed capital stock of
$200,000. It will manufacture products
srom sweet potatoes.

bearing the inscription:

June 11. 'Dr Riggs is an alumnus of
Auburn and taught there a year or
two before going to Clemson twenty '
