the defendant in the $5,000 damage
suit brought by George S Crout, a
well known farmer, against the county
of Lexington. This was the first
suit of the kind ever brought here,
and is of unusual importance, by reason
of the facts surrounding the action.
On April 4, 1914, the two
daughters of the plaintiff and a little
son were on their way home from a
visit to an ill si3ter at the town of
Swansea. The three were driving a
