were in Washington today and met
Secretary of War Newton D Baker,
when that olficial talked to almost a
hundred heads of medical schools
and colleges scattered throughout
the United States with regard to a
plan for accomplishing a more com- ]
prehensive training for medical offi-1
cers of the army and navy.
The deans saw Secretary Baker
following a preliminary conference!
on medical preparedness held this'
morning under the auspices of the
advisory commission of the council
of national defense. The plan discussed
is one to secure military
training for the military graduates
of the country by adopting a curriculum
for the senior classes of medical
schools which will provide instruction
by army medical officers
