The Boil Weevil.
In this issue of The Record wiil he
found two splendid articles on the
boll weevil subject. One was wiitten
by Mr Eve. who. some time ago.
made a special trip through sections

of the country infested by this pest.
He notes conJitions as he found
them in a clear, concise manner and
a careful peiusal of what he says on
the subject is commended to farmers
in this county.
The other article was prepared
especially for The Record by xMr C
W Baker, farm demonstration agent
of Wiliiamsburg county, and urges
farmers to be prepared to meet such
conditions as will undoubtedly fol-1
low the arrival of this great pest into
this section, which Mr Baker expects
within the next two years.
He urges immediate preparations [
against its arrival by the adoption
of a more diversified system of crops,

She had been in failing health for
several years, and her physicians announced
several days ago that her!
life was drawing rapidly to a close.
She leaves a husband and five children.
She will be greatly missed in
the town as well as the community,
for while she was not physical able
to get out and mingle with friends,
her influence was felt by everybody.
. The interment will take place tomorrow
morning at 11 o'clock at
Union church. The funeral services
will be conducted by the Episcopal
minister from Georgetown.
The principal subject treated in
President Wilson's address at the
opening of Congress Tuesday was
the railway legislation problem. The

other enterprises, died at his
home at Tarrytown, N Y, after a
two weeks' illness subsequent to an
operation for appendicitis.
The town of Easley realized $130
from one gallon of whisky last week.
The police discovered a negro woman
measuring the "ardent" and arrested
her. She stated that the liquor
belonged to two men .who had ordered
it in another's name. The
saleswoman was fined $">0, the owners
$?5*,eaeh and the boy that had
allowed the booze to be ordered in
hre name, $30.
