FOURTH ANNUAL MEETING South Carolina Wesley Bible Class Federation. The fourth annual meeting of the South Carolina Wesley Bible Class Federation of the Methodist Episcopal Church. South, will be held in Sumter. S C. July u. 4. 5. Th openine session will be held on Monday evpnii.gr, July ;-5, in Trinity Methodist church, Sumter, which will he the federation headquarters and genera! meeting place. The federation will he in session through Wednesday morning. More tnan 2.000 delegates are expected from the various organized classes in the State. This conference of Bible ela-s workers is expected to go far beyond anything that has been held in the entire Methedist Episcopal Church. South. These federations have K-en held in South Carolina first, then in Texas, Florida, North Carolina, and Alabama. Last year there were nearly 2.000 in at tendance at Spartanburg, making that meeting surpass ail others. Thi- year pir.ns have been aid to make the meeting at Sumter reach the high \v?t?r mark in every resect. The purpose of the organized Bible class movement is to inspire the the individual classes and the individual members of these to stand for a more definite and manly and womanly form of righteousness, to incite to more practical form of Christian service, to bring the members into a warmer fellowship and multiply the possibilities and capabilities of social service. The term "Wesley" is the special denominational name of all organized classes of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South. All classes that have regis* nr? _ _ l_ terert at trie central omce in i\aMiville are "Wesley" classes, and all classes receive a joint certificate from both the genera! board of the church and from the International Sunday-school association. There will be more than twenty speakers on the programme. In addition to some of the strongest speakers of the Methodist church in this State, such as Dr H X Snyder, l)r A G Rembert, Dr R E Stackhouse. On Tuesday afternoon. July 4, there will be a great parade of all WpsIpv Hrssps reDre>ented under their own banners and led by one or more bands Elaborate arrangements have been made to make this the most imposing spectacle of the entire meeting, a grand demonstration of loyal class members. In addition to the delegates it is exacted that all Bible class members of the city and surrounding country will take part in the parade. Each member is urged to secure a banner and march in the class and in the district from which he came. Ladies are to have a place of honor in all the meetings. Again the railroads have granted j exceedingly low rates. The fare is 1 based on an average of three cents ja mile one way plus 2oc for the , round trip. It is expected that j special trains will be run from Or Jangeburg. St George, Rennet tsville, 1 Dillon, Marion, Florence, Summerton, Columbia, and many other nearby points. At the very low rates granted by the railroads entire classes can easily come for at least ! one day. It is expected that the city of {Sumter, the "Gamecock City" of j South Carolina, the pride of the [ State, famous for her progressiveness, will be in gala attire. The colors of the federation are red and white for adult classes, and blue and white for intermediate and senior. The combined colors make those of the Nation, and on this patriotic day the good city should be alive with colors of the order. Large banners will be hung across the street at special places, and everything done to give the more than 2.000 visitors a royal welcome.
