Mr. Boll Leaves Kingstree.
Rev H D Bull conducted his final
services as rector of St Alban's Episcopal
church, Kingstree, last Sunday
and has entered upon his new duties
as curate of St Luke's church,Charleston.
his call to which was mentioned
in a recent issue of The Record. Mr
Bull assumed charge of this mission
June 30, 1914, succeeding Rev Dr
Robert Wilson,who resigned because
of the infirmities of age. His ministry
here has been a very fruitful
one. In addition to the two ordinary ,
Sunday services he introduced the
weekly celebration of the holy communion,
at which the attendance has
been most gratifying, far exceeding
that of some churches with much
larger membership. During his rectors
te two highly successful missions
have been held here?in November,
1914,by Rev Harold Thomas of Florence
and in January of this year by
Rev G Croft Williams of Charleston.
A very enjoyable session of the
Charleston convocation convened in
this church in April. 1915.
During Mr Bull's incumbency the
church has been repainted, a beautiful
new carpet and altar cross presented
and the curtains of the ves- '
try made as good as new. The <
church lot has been enclosed with a 1
neat fence. These improvements 1
have elicited much admiration.
In addition to his duties here, Mr 1
Bull officiated at Boyd school house, *
St Stephens, Mars Bluff and as sup- ^
ply at Florence. He also conducted
a mission in St John's church, Shan- '
don.last November. It is the verdict <
of the people wherever he is known :

An Octogenarian.
Our esteemed friend, Dr I W Graham,
of the Gourdin section, was
noted in Kingstree Monday. It was
his eighty-sixth birthday, and to say
it was a pleasure to us, as well as to
others of his friends who saw him
here on his natal day, is but to assure
him of the high esteem in which
he is held by all who know him. The
venerable doctor is still hale and
hearty and seldom fails to visit
Kingstree upon theopeningof court,
for it is then and there that he enjoys
meeting so many of his friends
from various parts of the county.
Dr Graham was born in 1830 on
the Graham place at Gourdin, where
Ho nnu; roaiHoa Fnrlv in Ufa Ha
studied and was graduated in medicine
at the University of Virginia,
with distinction. At the outbreak of
the war he entered the army of the
Confederacy as a private soldier,but
his knowledge of medicine and apparent
natural turn in the skilful
treatment of sick or wounded comrades
soon won him promotion to
the rank of assistant surgeon. At
the close of the co/iflict he was a
surgeon, with the rank of captain.
Dr Graham has two sons, Hons J
C and S A Graham,of whom he may
well feel proud, for they are high|
toned gentlemen farmers; have each
i reared an interesting family of sons
j and daughters, who are also making
. good.
