Lyceum Attractions Cominfj. au ticuvc j.'ai?. in ? p [ere* ' - To the Citizens of Kingstree: This year, against the advice of its friends and in spite of warnings that the effort would result in a failure, the school has undertaken to promote the lyceum course for the coming season. It has two reasons for doing this. The school and the lyce'im course join forces for the promulgation of information and culture. The lyceum has for its scope a anhprp whirh the school can hardly reach and which is mo9t necessary in the development of its boys and girls. It inculcates high ideals of art. It brings to our attention the world's latest ideas. This undisputed fact is the foremost reason why the school supports enthusiastically the lyceum course. The second is that the school _ is in urgent need of funds with which to carry on its work efficiently an# live up to its own ideals and your expectations. You have been so loyally generous when appealed to that we do not hesitate to approach you whenever necessary, knowing that we shall meet with sympathetic enthusiasm. But when it is possible for us to help ourselves and thus relieve you, we are delighted to do so. The lyceum course offei^sgch an opportunity. We are sure when two ( such excellent reasons for asking B your support are brought to your I attention it is not necessary to urge I you to make a decision by which you ? are not only benefiting yourself but 0 enabling an organization of which 6 you are considered a loyal supporter g to reach a higher degree of efficiency. I The course this season is sent us I by the Alkahest Lyceum bureau! I whose standards and reputation are universally .'conceded to be above. criticism. The numbers have all been submitted for our approval, and we say without hesitation that it is a progrrmme that you will enjoy thoroughly. The first number is the Dorva DeLeon company, with a musical programme of high appeal. They will appeor here on the evening of the 27th. Show your spirit of progress and loyalty by appearing at the school auditorium Monday evening, December 27. C.
