learn, much improved. She returned

The report of Mr A R Moseley,
special agent of the Bureau of the
L Census, Department of Commerce,
shows that Williamsburg county ginned
to December 1, 1915, 20,117
bales of cotton as compared with
29,164 bales ginned to the same
date in 1914.
The first of a series of Lyceum attractions
will be given at the school
auditorium Monday night, December
27. These attractions are being
pulled off for the benefit of the
Kingstree High and Graded school
and should be well patronized by
all who are interested in the school.
Mr D E Bradham, bookkeeper for
the Farmers' Supply Co, is having a
/ handsome five-room bungalow erect1
't ed in North Kingstree, adjoining Mr
V" W P MoGill's residence. Contractor
Chas H Singleton is doing the work
and as soon as completed Mr and
Mrs Bradham will occupy it as their
residence.
The Ladies' Missionary society of
the Baptist church held its regular
monthly meeting Monday afternoon
in the ladies' parlor of the church.
The meeting was an interesting one,
and at the conclusion of its business
deliberations delicious refreshments
were served and highly enjoyed by
aH present.
A large number of Kingstree and
r Williamsburg citizens went to Charleston
this week to enjoy the festivities.of
the old "city by the sea" during
the session of the Southern
Commercial congress. Among those

a prominent Kingstree bachelor for
breach of promise in the sum of
$50,000. The case will be argued
on both sides by the best legal tal- e

may be laying ourselves liable to a
ruling for "contempt" by doing so, 55
we can't resist an expression of ^
opinion in favor of the charming
young plaintiff in the case, because ^
our sympathy for bachelors is not
very extenuating even under reason- 0
