Millinery Openings.
This preat semi-annual event will
take place in Kinpstree Wednesday
and Thursday of next week and it is
safe to predict that every lady in
town and many who are not will be
on hand bripht and early to start
the inspection of head-pear and
ready-to-wear garments that will be
on display at the stores of The Kinpstree
Dry Goods Co, Silverman's Department
Store, and S Marcus'.
Each of these enterprisinp firms
makes it a rule every spring and
fall to lay in an up-to-date stock of
pretty millinery, -coat suits and
other seasonable garments which
justly attract the attention of the
ladies of the community. The proprie
ors of these stores have an unusually
attractive line for the opening

KINGSTREE SCHOOL OPENS.
A Full Corps ol Teachers and a
Large Enrollment.
Some gleefully,others reluctantly,!
did the children of Kingstree give up
their playthings and pastime amusements
Monday morning to wend their
way to the school for another nine
months session. The superinten-!
dent and a full corps of teachers
were on hand early to greet their
pupils and assign them to classes.
The opening exercises which took
place at 9 o'clock in the auditorium
were especially interesting, and were
well attended by the school's patrons.
"America" was sung by the school,
after which a passage of Scripture
was read by Rev W E Hurt. Follow- j
ing the reading Rev P S McChesney i
offered an eloquent prayer, at the

addressed the teachers, pupils and
patrons in a highly ihteresting manner.

an appropriate talk to the children J
in behalf of the board of trustees.

A Strong Hint.
The dentists all seem to advise j
that before going to their office to j
have teeth examined or fixed up, all j
patients should look around before
leaving home and get either a hoe,
pickaxe, rake or some suitable brush,
and dig up and remove such vegetables
and provisions as have been
stored on and around the teeth and
thereby give the dentist a better
chance to find them, that is, if such
a performance has not been attended
to since last Christmas. X.
