such practice, the Medical Society ol

proceed through the State Board ol

courts to have the guilty parties

campaign of cowardice which the
preparedness propaganda has undertaken
in the hope of terrifying the
country. It is doubly foolish because
it prejudices the cause of
rational and sensible preparedness.?

Found Dead in His Bed.

Albert Davis, a prominent citizen
ind former Sheriff of this county,
vas found dead in his bed this mornng
at his home in Manning, he hav
ng died suddenly some time during
he night. He had not enjoyed ro)ust
health for some years past, but
10 special apprehension was felt aa
o his condition. He was 70 years
>ld in July last and his death is atributed
to organic heart trouble.
Ar Davis was appointed County
Auditor in 1891 and held that office
'or six years. In 1902 he was elect;d
Sheriff and served one term in
hat office.
