Madame Rumor has it that Kingstree
will usher several blushing
brides into the matrimonial state
during the month of June. Our
great fear in this matter is that
Kingstree will lose some of them
from among her quota of charming
young ladies, but doubtless they will
make happy homes wherever they
settle down. We hope so, at least.

Storage Warehouse to Be Sold,
A meeting of the Kingstree Warelouse
and Storage company was
leld here Tuesday when it was de- si
nded to dispose of the property at ^

The building has never been a profit- ^
able investment as a cotton storage t
warehouse, and for the past three

ket. The original cost of the prop- j
jrty to be offered for sale was
about $8,000. ?

TRAINS COLLIDE AT GOURD1N. ,
Considerable Loss of Property
but No One In|ured.
About 10 o'clock last night a
head-on collision occurred at Gourdins,when
passenger train No 89 ran (
into freight train No 208, telescop- i
ing both engines and demolishing a \
number of the cars of the freight ,
train, which was loaded with fruits i
and vegetables for the Northern 1
markets. We are informed by par- <
ties who were on the Dasser.ger train l
that strawberries, tomatoes, eggs,
bananas,oranges,celery, etc, are piled
high in the Wreckage or strewn
along the road in great quantities.
Ihe passenger coaches were of steel
and the damage was not so great,

the jar. Engineer "Scrap" Johnson
and Conductor A W Edgerton were
in charge of the passenger train,
while Engineer James Worsham and
Conductor John Thweatt were run
