joyed by the young folk Tuesday '
evening at the home of Mr and Mrs
J A Griffin. Several social games
and plays were engaged in, and everyone
present seemed to enjoy being
there. Excellent music was appropriately
rendered bv Messrs
James and Jeff Matthews on the
violin and the banjo, respectively.
Among the White Oakites who
visited Kingstree last week were:
Mrs A R Eaddy and daughters,
Misses Opal and Cecil, Messrs E Dewitt,
G W Ward, J P Christmas, W
E Flowers and J P Sauls.
We had the pleasure (?) of a few
hours of real winter time last Friday
when the snow was falling thick and
fast, sitting around the fire-side
roasting potatoes and couJd have
been lots better satisfied if we had
had a big,fat 'possum to go with the
potatoes.
Dr W J Haselden of Cades was I
here Monday on professional business.
Mr J Walter McElveen went to
Kingstree Monday on business.
We are indeed glad to rejiort that
the sick in this vicinity, with the
exception of Mrs W D Eaddy, who
is very ill at present, are all improvl
ing and are looking forward to a
pleasant Thanksgiving.

We!l,Mr Editor, here's hoping for
you and yours, the faithful and effi-!

its many readers, which constitute
a large family of "The Welcome
