Dodson's Liver Tone Is Bet ter to Take. Nearly everybody who has ever tried calomel has found that it gives only a temporary relief. For calomel is such a powerful drug that it shocks and weakens the liver and makes it less able afterward to do its duty than in the first place. This is one of the reasons why Dr W V Brockington guarantees Dodson's Liver Tone to take the place , of calomel. Dodson's Liver Tone is a pure vegetable liver tonic that will cure constipation quickly and trentlv. without anv dancer of bad after-effects. It is guaranteed to do this with a guarantee that is simple and fair. If you buy a bottle of Dodson's Liver Tone for yourself | or your children, and do not find that it perfectly takes the place of 'calomel, then return to the store where you bought it and get your money back with a smile. Taft, August 23:?I believe this is the hottest ay we have had during the month of August: or have I mis-"judged" again? The rainy spells for the last few weeks have cau=ed farmers in this vicinity to lose lots of their fodder. Cotton is opening fast and the people are making ready for harvesting. Rev W T Bedenbaugh filled his regular appointment here this afternoon. He has been engaged in a series of meetings at Concord for the past week and will begin anothI or mootincr nt Tnft Wpdnpsdav pvpn ing. We hope that much good will be accomplished during this meeting. It will probably be the last time we shall have the pleasure of attending this pastor's meetings on this charge,as this makes his fourth year and we shall have to give him up, according to the laws of the Methodist church. Dr D Z Rowell, accompanied by one of his friends, visited his parents here Sunday afternoon. Miss Pearl and Mr George Bedenbaugh returned to their home at Batesburg last Monday, after a two weeks' stay with friends and relatives atTaft. Am sorry some of our young men have "heart trouble". Cheer up, boys, and be brave. It is proverbial that *"faint heart ne'er won fair lady." All are glad to know that Mr Willie Blakelev is convalescing from his recent illness. We hope he will continue to climb the hill of recovery. Miss Ruth Lifrage of Salters visited friends at Taft Sunday. Dr D Z Rowell of Trio will soon return to Atlanta, where he will complete his course. Everybody speaks well of his work and predicts a bright future for him in his noble ! calling. Mr and Mrs W P Cooper visited the former's sister, MrsChas Ea^er1 ton. at Suttons, last Sunday. When you have ?our "pindar poppings," why not invite Judge? iiissraa' A Pertinent Question. How do you like to be the repair man? Not a very pleasant subject. No doubt the job would ruffle your clothes. Save a Lot of Trouble. Bring your car to us for inspection and repairs. This will win in the long run. Have you ever tried our livery service? You will find quick action and low prices. Hamer-Thompson Co. CONDITION OF COTTON 76.6.
