What Do the Farmers Want?
The farmers of South Carolina
ave long been demanding a voice
i political affairs, and the political
evolution engineered by B R Tilllan
was in answer to that appeal,
ix years ago the farmers of the
Itate demanded that E D Smith be
ent to the United States Senate, as
arming had come to be recognized
s the State's mightiest interest, and
Ir Smith, a farmer by profession,
iad shown by his work for the
''armers' Union that he would do
nore to make the farmer's lot more
olerable if only given the opportunty.
The demand was granted. Mr
imith was sent to the Senate, and in
hat august assemblage he has more
han made good, having achieved
nore during his six years of office for
he farmer than any other man who
ver sat in the Senate of the
Jnited States, so far as our informtion
goes. To turn him out now,
jhon Hp is in hotter nosition bv far
han he was six years ago to do
ffective work, and to substitute
or him a man who knows very little
bout farming, and has never inluded
the farmer's interests in his
ilatform to any great extent, would
>e a terrible mistake, so far as the
armers are concerned, and we don't
ee how the farmers, if thej care
nything at all for their own intersts,
can fail to line up solidly for
he man who has been so faithful to
heir interests, and who will be in
>osition to do far more effective
vork for them if given another

There is no use of our "beating
around the bush." We might. as
well out with it first as last. We
want you to try Chamberlain's Cough
Remedy the next time you have a
(.ough or cold. There is no reason so
far as we can see why you should
not do so. This preparation by its
remarkable cures has gained a world
wide reputation, and people everywhere
speak of it in the highest
terms of praise. It is for sale by
all dealers. *
When a man who has been stung
on a deal says he "doesn't mind
losing the money, but it's tne principle
of the thing he doesn't like,"
we usually write it down in our
mind that he 3pells it "principal."?
