THURSDAY. MAR. 26. 1914. It is a pity that the preachers of Atlanta have injected their influence into the cause of Leo M Frank. The jurors having heard the evidence found a unanimous verdict against Frank while the preachers formed their opinion on ex parte evidence, it seems. If they want to try the case, why not organize a special venire of twelve prominent clergymen of Atlanta and let the thirteenth act as Judge? Most Valuable Cotton Crop. Editor County Record:? I am sending you Farmers' Bulletin No 537, "How to grow an acre of corn," and Farmers' Bulletin No 571, "Tobacco culture". If you will please direct the attention of your readers to these two bulletins I think that they will get valuable in formation from each of them. I shall also be glad to have you advise the public that I will be glad to send them these or any other bulletins I may be able to secure, or to furnish seed to any of the white citizens of my district who will write for same. | Yours very truly, J W Ragsdale. Postmaster-General Burleson has announced an important change in parcels post regulations for farmers. It provides for a farm product post. Hitherto packages of eggs and other farm products had to be done up securely in small packages, so as to be carried in a mail bag. Now crates, such as express companies use in carrying eggs, butter, dressed fowls, fruits and vegetables, will be accepted by parcels post, provided they do not exceed fifty pounds in weight. They will be carried outside of mail bags and delivered to destination. The new service is is provided only for first and second zones, which will limit the shipments to 150 air-line miles. The object of the change is to aid the country producer in selling directly to the city consumer. It is argued that the farmer will in this way get a better price and the consumer buy for less than he is now paying j through middlemen. Stubborn, Annoying Coughs Cured.
