A large delegation of the members
of the Florence Chamber of
Commerce, traveling "Special," will
visit your city Tuesday, March 24,
arriving 11 a. m. and departing at
11:55 a, m. which will give us ?5
minutes in your town.
In connection with the above, I
would be pleased to have you give
as much publicity to the event as
possible, as we are most desirous of
meeting a large number of your
farmers, your school children, and
especially your progressive business
men.
The object of the trip is for the
purpose of agitating the construe-1
tion of modern improved public j
highways; to push a campaign for
"50,000,000 pounds of tobacco in
South Carolina for 1915"; to advertise
the many and varied opportunities
of the "Rich Pee Dee District";
to boost the Pee Dee Fair, which
will be held in Florence during October;
and especially to become betti?r
acauainted with the business;
people of Eastern South Carolina. I

business trip to Kingstree Saturday.
Mis9 Lizzie Baker, a daughter of

taken to an infirmary at Florence
for an operation Saturday. All
hope for her a rapid recovery.

Monday,about mid-day, Mr Gilbert
Sauls fell from his tobacco
harn a distance of twenty feet. He
is painfully but not seriously injured.
He and several others were working
on the bam and Mr Sauls started
down the ladder after some
shingles, when, by seme means, he
missed his foot-hold and fell, his
back striking the ladder. This and
internal injuries are his worst hurts.
The attending physician says that
he will be able to be out after several
days in bed.
