Snow Worth Millions.
The temporary inconveniences
caused by the blanket of snow covering
Georgia and the Southern
States generally are incomparably
more than offset by the attendant
idded value to our agricultural
prospects.
Snow is one of nature's best and
cheapest fertilizers. It holds chemical
elements missing in rain, and,unlike
rain, it is evenly and gradually
absorbed and distributed. Providence
is, therefore, endowing the
crops of Georgia for the forthcoming
summer and autumn. The white
mantle that covers fallow acres will
later be transmuted into fields of
sloth of gold, metaphorically speaking.
The principle holds with all
manner of agricultural and horticultural
products. The peach and the
apple profit along with corn and cotton
and oats and wheat.
It is, of course, as yet too early to
prophesy the extent of the farm
yield in Georgia this year, but it is a
certainty that it will be favorably
affected by the heavy deposit of snow
now thawing under the rays of the
3un. Nature worked discriminately
in Georgia'9 favor last year. It
seems the benevolent old dame has
already begun during the new year
her task of spreading plenty with a

was an old structure, being built
