That a tax le\y of eighty cents ($0.80) on every one hundred dollars of all real and Dersonal property within the limits of the Town of KingBtree.S C, (not exempt by law) be and the same is hereby levied to meet and defray the current expense* of the said Town. Last Saturday night Israel Camp *11, a negro man employed on the )lantation of Geo Beasley, Esq, at jourdins, shot and mortally wound;d Fannie Footman, a young negro voman living on the farm of Mr Lex JlcClary. It seems that about midlight Campbell went to the young voman's house and, knocking at the ioor, asked to be admitted; on *ing refused, he went to a window md when the woman ran to the vindow to fasten the shutter, Campsell shot her in the abdomen. Dra 6V D Rich of Gourdins and E T Kelley of Kingstree were summoned, sut their efforts to save the woman vere futile and she died at 7 o'clock.
