through the mail would expedite matters

asking for the amount of their tax, so as
to avoid sending the wrong amount,also
stating the township or townships (if
property is owned in more than one)
and if possiblegive school district where
property is located. After paying taxes
examine your receipts and see if all
your property is covered; if not, see
about it at once.

states that we may depend upon the
Kingstree district's paying out on
the Sunday-school assessment by November
first His district for some
time has lacked only three charges
of being out,and we doubt if the total
to come from these will amount
to over fifteen dollars. When it is
remembered that his district was
first to Dav out on missions.that it is
striving to pay every claim in full,
that it has more than doubled its
past record on Children's day, we
are bound to call Brother Holroyd a
great presiding elder. And be it said
to his credit that he is Attending to
spiritual matters with the same earnestness
and wisdom with which he
attends to the business matters of 1

Carnival at Cades School Honse.
Friday, November 14. beginning
at 7 o'clock p.m., there will be held
a carnival and hot supper at the
Cades school house, Cades, S C. Besides
the usual menu of barbecued
meats.roast turkey,cranberry sauce,
hot biscuits, rice and rich grayy, ,
sweetmeats, fruits and hot coffee,

Hallowe'en Party*
The Hallowe'en party given Friday
evening by the Epworth league'
at the Central tobacco warehouse
was a most delightful affair and enjoyed
by everyone. The hall, with its4
witches, goblins and ghosts moving'
around, and decorations of pump-'
kins, autumn leaves and black cats,
combined to form a scene weirtf an<#
eerie. The costumes were especialV
good. Many congratulations are due
Miss Elma Hinds,the president, who
did so much to make the entertainment
a success.
