IB KING WAREHOUSE SOLDADVER I TISING CAMPAIGN PROJECT I ED--PERSONAL AND LOCAL. f Lake City, September 23:?One I of the biggest real estate deals ever consummated in Lake City recently I took place Friday when Messrs J D i King and Co sold their immense toff bacco sales warehouse to Messrs L | 0 Holloway and B G Bowen. This | warehouse has only recently been 1 constructed, having been completed this summer just in time for the | 1 opening of the tobacco market at this place at a cost of about $20,000.00. The warehouse and adjoining lots were sold for the sum of about $25,000.00. Only for the fact that circumstances necessitated Messrs J D King and Co abandoning the market at this place, much to the regret of their many friends and patrons here, would it have been sold at that price. Messrs Holloway and Bowen are two of our most successful and energetic business men, especially in this line, and a sucessful and prosperous warehouse career is predicted for them. The town is having a crematory built on its lot near the Lake swamp,at a cost of about $3,500.00. Messrs Epps & Epps are having materials hauled preparing to build another brick store on Main street adjoining their other buildings. Mr S B Poston of Johnsonville was noted here last Thursday. Mr J P Epps of Cades was in town on business matters last Saturday. That the fall has come upon us quite suddenly is evidenced by the unusual number of heavy coats- and other winter apparel in evidence the last two days. The cool weather has also given an impetus to the farmers in this vicinity, who have been bringing in a great deal of cotton and seem to be pleased with the prices paid for it. Professor T Cook Covington was called to Richmond, Va, Sunday evening, where his mother, who has been confined for some time to a sanatarium at that place, is desperately ill. Mr W T Askins, Jr, is acting as substitute during Mr Covington's absence. Mr J W Holliday of Savage came up last Thursday te attend to several of his many business interests in and near Lake City.
