Result of Election Declared.
The executive committee of the
town Democratic c'ub met Friday
morning of last week for the purpose
of canvassing the vote cast at the

present were: Mr W F Tolley, chairman;
Hon E C Epps, Messrs L C
Dove and M H Jacobs, E L Hirseh,
Esq. secretary, being absent on professional
business at Lake City.
The committee declared tl*> result
of the primary as returned by the

announced were thrown out J

In this nnnnpction we inadvertent
ly omitted to state in our report last
week that Mr W E Jenkinson publicly
withdrew from the contest as a
candidate for Alderman on Mondayevening
prior to the primary, after
the tickets had been printed, announcing
that under no circumstances
would he itand for election. This
perhaps account? for Mr Jenkinson's
defeat.
The regular election of the?e nominees
will take place September 23,
and they will assume their respective
duties as public servants of the
town of Kingstree early in October.
They are all young and enthusiastic
business men who have the progress
and welfare of their town in
heart. We congratulate them and
shall expect an account of services
well and faithfully rendered.
Should Fight for Their Rights.
We don't know what the prohibitionists
of Sumter and Williamsburg
counties are going to do about the
election boards of their counties
throw ing out enough votes to change
the result from a prohibition victory
to a dispensary victory, but we sincerely
hope that they'll carry the
fight to the very bitterest end and
that they will make life miserable
for the men who took their victory
from them.?Greenville Piedmont,

And now comes the board of election
commissioners of Williamsburg
county and throws out enough votes
to change the result of the dispensary
election in that county from a
