BASEBALL MATCH. A ????? * Kiugstree Defeats Lake City in a Close Contest Here Friday. i The Kingstree and Lake City base { ball teams crossed bats on the local V diamond last Friday. The contest ^ was close and exciting throughout, resulted in a score of 5 to 4 in ^^^iavor of Kingstree. Both sides /-.--i ?.;u I played weJi. i^ook was a muc at times on account of a sore finger, but was very effective in the piDches. He let the visitors down with very few hits, while our boys knockm' ed Eaddy all over the lot, securing fifteen safe hife, several for extra bases. All of our boys showed up .well at their respective places, and the prospect is very bright for a successful season. A large crowd from the town and school witnessed the game and deserve credit for their "rooting". We thank the men of Kingstree for their liherai concriDuuons 10 me baseball club and will show our appreciation by doing our very best to carry off the pennant.
