LECTURE AT SCRANTON !

Lumpkin of Charleston lectured to a
crowded house here last evening. He
chose as his subject, "The Unconscious
Influence" and treated it well.
Mr Lumpkin is a deep thinker and
interesting speaKer. After his address,
Miss Hook, one of tne lady
teachers, rendered a vocal selection.
The speaker being a singer of rare
ability, also gave a few vocal selections
which were thoroughly enjoyed.
Mr Lumpkin came at the invitation
of the school principal. He was
the third lecturer that has been to
Scranton this school year, Senator
Smith and Congressman Ragsdale
being the others.
Scranton will soon be able to boast
of a $10,000 school building. The
material is now being put on the
ground. It will be welcomed,as the
attendance this year is near 10 per
lent above last and the present building
is very inadequate.
