Recreation Ground for KIngstree
y
i- During the lifetime of the owner
of the property, Hon R H Kellahan
has donated a beautiful little tract
of land, situate in North Kin^stree,
near the residence of P H Stoll.Esq,
v to the Civic league of Kingstree to
"e be used as a recreation ground or
park. At a meeting of the members
of the league last week, plans for
d improving and beautifying the site
n were discussed and a committee,
t with Mrs LeRoy Lee as president,
I-. was appointed to have the necessary
work done in this direction. There
are a number of large, beautiful
"? trees on the ground, with an abunh
dance of underbrush. The latter
will be cleared out and swings and
I comfortable benches placed about
for the benefit of the public, most
especially the children. The work
will be pushed forward as rapidly
as possible.
It is indeed commendable in the
owner of this attractive little plot
' to donate it to the Civic league for
such a noble purpose, and we hope
f later, after he has seen the transfor
mation and realized the genuine
i pleasure the citi^ns, and especially
a the little children, derive from a
1 park.be it ever so small,to hear that
- his generosity has been still more
magnanimous, and that the site has
been deeded outright to the Civic
league of Kingstree. What a bless2
ing it would be to the town, besides
serving as an ever living monument
to the donor.
