The subject wa: a ?ood one, and th<* speaker portray ed the life and character of Danie in a way as to make him a most ad mirable example for the present da} men of any community to strive tc emulate. Dr Dill's subject an the evening service was "The Mistake of a Life' ard he chose as his text a part o1 two verses from I Samuel, which gave tisi the life of Saul, "a choice young man and goodly," but who event ually disobeyed God and fell upor his own sword and died. His sermor from start to finish was one of deej interest.and so clearly, earnestly anc eloquently was it rendered that i child could comprehend the import ance of living in obedience to Divine law. Monday t vening the speaker chose for his subject: "A Bargain in Sal vation," and his text was appropri ately selected and applied to his theme. In his earnest, eloquent style he endeavored to impress upon his hearers the freedom of salvation He spoke of the extensive way ir which it is advertised throughoui the world and said in the Unitec States alone there were one hundrec and fifty thousand traveling repre sentatives of the bargains in salva tion as proffered in the holy Bible which is, he said, the most ext?nsive ly advertised commodity in the mar kets of the world today. He illus trated his subjects throughout bj the importance of advertising: anc showed how, by extensive, system atic advertising: one of the mos widely known and generally usee commodities of commerce and trade had its origrin in a !lftU "shack" b> a man with only a jug of molasse: and a sack of wheat. This great con cern now spends one million dollar: annually advertising an article whicl has no other qualities of recommend ation; yet the man with the jug oJ molasses and sack of wheat in thai little Michigan "shack" has made millions by advertising it. At the conclusion of the sermon i number of his hearers went forward and took the evangelist's hand, sig nifying their intention of becoming followers and "advertisers" of the blessed Christ.
