the officers of the county and find 5
that they are in good shape. '
We notice quite an increase in the 1
amount of money spent for school
purposes in the past 10 years. In
the fiscal year 1900-1901 the total
taxes for school purposes amounted
to $17,839. The amount has steadily
increased until in 1910-1911 it has ^
reached the sum of $55,944. The j
salary of the Superintendent of edu- j
cation in 1900-1901 was $650 per s
year and has been the same ever 1
since. We feel and recommend that ^
the Superintendent's salary be raised j
to a sufficient amount to warrant his | ^
spending more time and attention to ; i
the duties that the office requires.: 1

For the roads of the county we i
find that there was on hand on July 1,
1910, the end of the fiscal year
1909-1910, the sum of $7,912.73. 1
