Notwithstanding the inclement weather a good-sized audience 3aw Gniustark played at the opera house Tu<;sday night and those who braved the elements were well repaid by the admirable rendition of the play based upon George Barr McCu :cheon's well known book. The interest in the play holds throughout the two hours of the performance and the dramatic climaxes and thrilling situations set the nerves a-quiver with sympathetic emotions. * The cast includes several pretty women handsomely gowned, and j they had more than good looks and i pretty costumes. In fact, most of the players, ten in a!', showed histrionic talent, the "dead ones" being the exception. The Graustark company carries a lot of special scenery, but the size of the local opera house precluded the display of most of it. What they could use was very attractive and enhanced the interest of the play. Messrs Alsbrook, Spiegner and Jacobs, the opera house lessees, are to be congratulated on securing Graustark and if they maintain a standard of such high-class plays the amusement loving public should encourage their efforts by liberal patronage.
