Hand Present, Urges lit] ^Grade-215 Enrolled First Day. The Kingstree Graded and Higl school opened its session of 1911-1! Monday morning with an enrollmen I of two hundred and fifteen pupils This number exceeds the enrollmeni I of last year, or any previous year, a the beginning of the session, and wil be further increased during the nex few weeks. The exercises were oDened wit! prayer^ by Rev W E Hurt and Scrip ture reading by Rev W P Meadors After several songs by the school Supt Swittenberg introduced Pro W H Hand, State High School In spector,who made an interesting ad dress on the advantages of addinj an eleventh grade to the school here Such a grade, he stated, would prac tically cover the Freshman course ii most of the colleges of the State and besides add dignity to ou school. Prof Hand said many things com i plimentary of the Kingstree school I adding that he never passed througl I on the railroad that he did not lool with pride at our splendid building He believed while we had done wel in the past, we would do still bette for the future by the addition o: i another grade to the school. Fourth and fifth grades?Mia Jimmie Britton (for two weeks only until a regular teacher can be se cured). Sixth grade?Miss Ann:e Reeves. Seventh grade ? Miss Margarei Youmans.
