But; often germs multiply so fast the little fighters are overcome. Then see pimples, boils, eczema, salt-rheum and sores multiply and strength and appetite fail. This condition demands Electric Bitters to regulate stomach, liver, kidneys and to expel poisons from the blood. "They are the best blood purifier," writes C T Budahn of Tracy.Calif. "I have ever found." They make rich, red blood, strong nerves and build up your health. Try them. 50c at M L Allen's. The Blease-Belton Incident. In the Belton incident Governor Blease is unfortunate in having his version of his alleged rude conduct to a lady go counter to the lady.'s sworn testimony. Mr Blease may not have intended to be offensive and may not haw been conscious of being so,but evidently the lady so considered his manner and conduct and xhat she says is likely to be generally credited. An English artist while painting a I sea piece discovered a badger's lair and tbonght to play the animal a practical Joke. Gathering together a bundle of grass and weeds, he placed It inside the mouth <>f the hole and. Igniting It i with a match, waited for the lgnomlul1 oos flight of the astonished householder. Rut Master Badger was a resource' ful animal and not disposed to be made a butt of practical jokers. Hecame up from the depths of his hole as soon as the penetrating smoke told him that there was a tire on the premises and deliberately scratched earth on the burning grass with his strong I claws until all danger was past. No human being could have grasped the situation more quickly or displayed greater skill In dealing with an unfamiliar event. Building a Reputation. Young physicians In the smaller towns have an idea that appearing very busy will help them greatly in starting a practice. The following is , told by a now prominent Kentucky | physician. He had a call the after- \ noon following the hanging out of his shingle and started through town in i his buggy at terrific speed. A police- j man stopped tbe enterprising physician.. ' Doctor," he said, "it is against the j city ordinance to drive at the speed i you are going. You must accompany ' me to tbe judge and pay your fine." "What is the fine?" inquired the I doctor. I "Vivo " The doctor's hand flew to his pocket ; "Here's ?10. I have to come back just as fast as I am going."?Success Maga Ine. i Ambition. The scroll of fame lias variant attractions for different minds. "Here lies one whose name was writ i in water"?the despairing and dying j John Keats desired that admission of defeat engraved for his epitaph. ! "Write me as one who loved his fel- j low men," was I.eigh Hunt's aspira- i tlon. To be remembered as the author of the Declaration of Independence and of j the first statue for religious freedom and as the founder of the University of Virginia, this was Thomas Jeffer- 1 son's prayer to posterity. Thus oue may go the range. And thus the lines recur: Ambition is our Idol, on whose wings j ! Great minds are carried only to extreme. To be sublimely great or to be nothing. ? > 1 1 ne !>nr Mornin is a trade winner. Try it. But man cannot live by morning trade alone. Therefore the smile should stav on the job all day. And not only should the merchant's face smile, but his store front, likewise 1 his town. To make a store front [ smile keep it clean. Have a bright and attractive display in the window. If the merchant smiles and his store front smiles the customer ' i will smile, and everybody will be .happy. To make a town smile clean the streets and have attrac' tire buildings and lawns, j Prosperity smiles while Failure has a grouch. Smile, smile, smile!
