When last seen he M making his way throuj J COFFINS Ar Nonce We note that during the last thret months several hundred paid-in-ad vance subscriptions have expired These include many of our most re liable subscribers, most of whom, wt feel sure, want to continue taking tin paper. Realizing the scarcity ol money just at this season, we havt sent out no statements, but we woulc remind our friends, one and all, thai unless paid a year in advance, the price of subscription is $1.25 a year As a matter of fact, the regular price of subscription is $1.25 a year, bul we allow a discount of 25 cents if 8 full roar Kp naid in advance. This I rule applies to all. We play no favorites, so watch your label and renew promptly if you do not wish tc pay the full price, $1.25. Another matter: we ask as a special favor if you don't want the paper drop us a card to that effector have your postmaster promptly notify us. The Government furnishes postmasters with blank forms to notify publishers, so just leave your paper in the office and instruct your p, m. to notify us. But don't wait to do this till you owe us several dollars?that is neither honest nor honorable. ^We believe that there are enough ^^ople in Williamsburg county who [ really want the paper to warrant us publishing it and we try to give full value for what we receive. We say it in no boastful spirit, but there is no county weekly newspaper in the State that gives more home news in a more attractive form than The County Record. We think too much of the paper to send it into a single home where it is not wanted. 7-13-tf Parisians started a riot the other day at the production of a new play. Such things do not happen in America, but they are richly merited by some of the alleged plays that are thrust upon us. aHBWWBBBBWi ! I AS | If you are g lines. First Load Brought In Satui dayThree Warehouses Open. ' j The first sale of this year's cropoi " ' --- i- fl,. tODacco was mam- oaiuiua,* mv Central warehouse, consisting of two [ loads of "sand-lugs," which brought 5* cents. This tobacco was brought in by Mr J W Stewart, of the Bethel ' section, to whom belongs the honor ' of marketing the first load in Wil! liamsburg county for the year 1911. Most of the farmers have not beJ gun curing yet, but every day sev' eral loads come to this market and 1 bring good prices. Sand-lugs yes' terday brought 7 J cents. For a while the tobacco outlook was gloomy indeed, but since the rains the crop has ' come out wonderfully, it is said, and men who have canvassed the county ' with an eye to the real conditions report that at least as much tobacco will be grown in Williamsburg as " last year and the weed is of a much 1 finer quality. All over the tobacco belt the crop is cut short and high prices are confidently expected. Mr Cooper, the 1 president of a Wilmington bank, told ' us last week that he had had a talk with Mr Duke, the head of the American Tobacco company, who ad1 mitted that they knew the tobac1 cd had not been made this year and 1 that they expected to pay unusually high prices for all they can get. The Kingstree market now includes three tobacco warehouses, viz: The Banner, operated by Glenn ' & Price, of Stoneville, N C, the Central,by Epps & Montgomery, and the Farmers',by Mattnews & L?ewis, me ' latter firm also being North Carolinians. These warehouses are all open for business and competition will be so keen as to insure the topnotch price for every pound of tobacco brought to Kingstree. All the leading tobacco companies will be represented here, as usual? the American Tobacco company by Mr , L M Walker; the Imperial by Mr J plendid L oing away this sui ill find a peculiar s >r suit case. Besides these there will be many independent buyers. We can conscientiously advise ev eryone to try Kingstree market if 1 he wants th?" highest price for his ? product. The managers of the Central w irehouse have just received notice I from the American Tobacco compa" ny that their buyer will be here on July 20, also all the other important companies will have their represent atives here on that day, when all the markets of the State will be formalI ly opened, and there will be sales daily throughout the season. if rn#AFEfro. | WHEN Dm Mb AMAt n H K LMllliv JUUi lliuiikj aim va> j m and schemers and fair weather . m make your money their money 1 Make OUR Bank We pay liberal interest consist* 1 Farmers &"Mei m "Absolute I LAKE CH Jne of Ti timer it is very imp atisfaction in havir have just received >ATS I we can fit you.
