Denman Thompson, the creator
f "Uncle Josh Whitcomb" in
"T.ie Old Homestead," died last
week at his home in New HanipHhire.
His name is familiar in
every hamlet ami thousands have
v
been moved to tears and laughter
by his characterization of a
simple, kindly,honest old New England
farmer, with a saving*sense
of humor, in a genuine humaninterest
story. We had the pleasure
once of seeing the famous
actor as "Uncle Josh" and this
is our humble tribute to his
memory.
