EXPERT ROAD BUILDER
Makes Good Headway Constructing
Model Sand-Clay Highway.
, Hie work on the demonstration
sand-clay sections of road, one east,
the other north of Kingstree, has
been progressing rapidly this week
under the direction of the expert engineer,
H C Wells, who comes from
.
the Department of agriculture, Washington,D
C. Owing to the fact that
the office of public roads,which is a
branch of the agricultural department,has
more applications for demonstration
work than it has at times
engineers available, Williamsburg
county is fortunate in being able to
secure the services of Mr Wells,

pense to our county.
Upon the completion of the work
here, Mr Wells will submit a complete
report covering the work already
done in this county, along
with recommendations and advice
regarding the work to be done on
the roads in the near future. This
report will be published in The
County Record a at early day.

1 Sheriff Brings Back from Florida
Man Charged with Bigamy.
Armed with requisition papers
Sheriff Graham left Friday night for
Apalachicola, Florida, where W M
Powers, the man charged with bigamy,was
held in custody awaiting the
Sheriff's arrival, Monday morning
he returned with his prisoner and
Powers languishes in jail, where he
will probably remain until the next
1 term of court, some time in June.
J Powers is a middle-aged man and
