"hold up". The "St Louis Amusement

is a good bunch to steer clear of.
A friend from a neighboring
county whose business brings him
in touch with quite a number of
county newspapers told us this week
that The Record was the best county
seat weekly in the State. While we
believe our friend's opinion was not
mere idle compliment, yet we beg
to differ with him. It is our desire
to publish the best weekly newspaper
in the State, but that is our ideal.
How near we shall come to attaining
that ideal depends wholly upon
the support and co-operation given
us by our subscribers.
Tuesday was ye editor's birthday
! and not a single reminder of the day.
We will forgive this oversight on the
part of our kind friends if they will
come across right liberally with a
dollar or two on subscription between
now and next April to help
us keep up the payments on that
new press, as they become due. If
you've paid ahead for the paper let
us print your letter heads, envelopes,
legal blanks, or anything else you
may need. We have a splendidly
equipped job office and guarantee
satisfaction on every piece of work
turned out. Moreover, we will meet
prices on any job. Send in your orders.
Why not let me call for and deliver
your laundry? Satisfaction
guaranteed. [3-30-3t
