The question for debate was: "Resolved: Which has the greater influence over an audience.an orator or a musician?" The decision was rendered in favor of the latter. In addition to the regular programme the following officers were elected: President, Miss Bessie Swann; vicepresident. Mr Donald Montgomery: secretary. Mr Robert Kirk.Jr; treasurer, Miss Marian McFaddin; critic. Miss Mary Vause: censor, Mr McBride McFadden: literary editor, Miss Florence Mcintosh. The following now members were admitted: Misses Aiice McDonnell and Pauline Gordon. All the new members are already very much interested in the society and exert themselves to do everything in their i power towards its uplifting. They may rest assured that their efforts are not unappreciated by the older members.
