Andrews, November 28:?Thanksgiving
day was quietly observed.
Most of the men went to Santee
river hunting and fishing. Quite a
lot of game was bagged and all report
having a nice time. The business
houses in the town were all
closed and the clerks permitted to
enjoy the day.
Last Saturday evening little Miss
Edith Labrenue gave the boys and
girls in town a birth-day party.
Fruit,candies and cake were enjoyed
in abundance. Edith received a number
of fine presents. The boys and
girls all voted the occasion a most
pleasant one.

Chief Frank Fulton and some of

Friday with the writer. The "Chief"
is liked by all who know him and
he makes a good officer.
Mr Dornel Etheridge made a flying
trip to Pembrook, Ga, looking
over the place, which he expects to
make his future home.
Mr W A Moore and son, Willis, J
made a business trip to Georgetown
one day last week. Willis is a student
of the Lake City High school.
By the way, Mr W A Moore this '
year made a bale of cotton to the ,
acre on nearly all he planted. He
is considered one of the best farmers:
of the State. i

Moody, November 28:?Thanksgiving
went by without special inci-i
dent. A good many turkeys graced j
the festive board. A number of
men and boys went deer hunting,
but Mr W T Evans was the onlyone
to kill a deer. He brought
down a four-pronged buck which
added a pleasing variety to ihe
Thanksgiving bill of fare.
About seven o'clock Thursday
evening a very enjoyable box party
was given in the graded school
building for the benefit of the school.
This entertainment was gotten up
for the benefit of the school by '
Fannie and Minnie Marshall, the <
popular and accomplished teachers.
The building was beautifully deco- i
rated for the occasion. The usual i
features of such an event were
carried out very agreeably and enjoyably.
Several cakes were raffled
and brought good prices. Ice cream
and cake and several kinds of fruit
were served during the evening.
The proceeds of the enterprise
amounted to $58.75.
