In forming your words in Jenkinson
Bros Co's prize word contest, it
is permissible to use every letter
that occurs in each phrase as many
times^s it appears in the phrase.
For example, in "May Manton", the
word "mama" will be counted because
"m" and "a"?both occur twice
in the phrase. In "Walk-over", no
letter is repeated, hence each of the
eight letters may be used only once.
Col A B Wise of Columbia, representing
Comptroller Ger.err.1 A W
Jones, made the annuai settlement
with the county officials here Friday.
This transaction.which usually occupies
a day or two, was completed in
less than two hours. Col Wise paid
Auditor Montgomery, Treasurer
Cook and County Commissioner
Hammet a high compliment, saying
that he found the accounts in this
. county in better shape than in any
other county that he had visited*
The secretary and treasurer of the
county executive committee has paid
nearly all the election claims.though
it has been a tedious work, requiring
the issuing of nearly 200 small
| checks and keeping a record of them.
Muddy Creek and Blooming vale managers
are still unpaid because the
statement from Muddy Creek failed
to tell who was entitled to the
. mileage, while Bloomingvale's statement
lacked the same data. The secretary
has written to one of the
managers at each of these precincts.
but so far has failed to get a response.
Just as soon as the required
information is forthcoming checks
will be sent to the managers at
Muddy Creek and Bloomingvaie.

The readers of this paper will be
pleased to learn that there is at least
one dreaded disease that science has
been able to cure in all its stages,
and that is Catarrh. Hall's Catarrh
Cure is the only positive cure now
known to the medical fraternity.
Catarrh, being a constitutional disease,
requires a constitutional treatment.
Hall's Catarrh Cure is taken
internally, acting directly upon t. e
I blood and mucous surfaces of the
system, thereby destroying the
foundation of the disease.and giving
the patient strength by building up
the constitution and assisting nature
in doing its work. The proprietors
have so much faith in its curative
powers that they offer One Hundred
Dollars for any case that it fails to
cure. Send for list of testimonials.
