Mrs H G Askins from Lake City is visiting Mrs W P Hawkins. E L Fishbourne, Esq, visited his brother at Pinopolis Sunday. Mrs J G Slaughter went to Mullins Monday to visit her parents. Mrs R C Gregg of Marion is visit' ing h> r daughter, Mrs R J McCabe. Mr Jobn M Eaddy of Lake City was noted in town Monday between trains. Mr R H Pit.cman and family of Gourdins are visiting relatives in Camden. Miss Sue Stoll, who has been teaching in Anderson, is at home for the summer. Mr P B Thorn and Robert J Kirk, Esq,visited Charleston the early part of this week. Mrs Annie Michie and children of Darlington are visiting Mr D M Ervin's family. Mis^ Eunice Harper, one of Winthrop's "sweet girl graduates," returned to her home here last night. Capt John A Kelley is at Tate Springs, Tenn., enjoying a period of well-earned rest and re-cuperatioh. Misses Ruth and Lyde Brinkley of Georgetown are visiting at their brother's, Mr C C Brinkley's, home ' in town. Solicitor Stoll is holding court in Bishopville this week. Next Monday the court of general sessions convenes here. Mr E H McConnell, book-keeper for Wilkins Wholesale Grocery Co, is spending some time at his home in Or rum, N C. Misses Martha Gordon and Marian McFadden will represent Kingstree at the Epworth League conference in Newberry June 16-19. The many friends of Rev E E Ervin regret that he has found it necessary to go to McLeod's infirmary, Florence, for treatment. Mr S C Riggs of Charleston, who is connected with the Leaphart Lumber Co, was here this week looking after his business interests. Miss Martha Crittenden, who has! been the guest of Miss Marian Gilland for some days, returned this week to her home at Shellman, Ga. Mr J A Marshall of Zeb was1 brought here to Dr Scott for rned-! ical attention Tuesday afternoon,! having cut his wrist with a hatchet, severing one or more blood vessels and causing a serious injury. At last accounts he was resting easy. Hon B B Chandler of Rome called to see us awhile Saturday. Mr Chandler is just out from a prolonged illness, but from his appearance our friend is regaining strength and vitality and we hope soon that he may be restored to his usual health and activity. We were pleased to have a call Tuesday from Mr Bishop Burgess, who has been out on the farm near Mouzon for some months for the sake of his health, and,judging from his robust appearance,the salubrious air of that country has certainly wrought wonders in restoring his health. George P Logan,Esq, of Columbia has been spending several days in town with his mother's family. Mr Logan's law firm is now recognized as one of the strongest in the Capital City.
