cultured and charming woman of
strong personality and her friends

She w : admired and loved for her
amiable disposition and her unassuming
manner. As the wife of
an itinerant minister she was faithful
and true, always proving an inspiration
and help to her husband.
She was a most devoted wife and

GREAT DAT FOR WILLIAMSBURG
All Roads Lead to Kings tree
Memorial Day.
The people of Kingstree generally
and especially the Daughters of the
Confederacy and the old veterans
* throughout the county are looking
forward to May 10 with liveliest" anticipation
for a momentous occasion.
The U D C chapter has invited as
orator of the day Col James Arm
strong, the genial Irishman, the
flavor of whose wit improves with
age. if age can be associated with
one who long ago discovered the
fountain of immortal youth. In all
South Carolina there could not have
been made a more fitting selection
for this occasion than Col Armstrong
and the ladies request us
to be sure to make the announcement
that the knighty Colonel has
accepted their invitation and will
surely grace the occasion with his
gen.al presence, barring unforeseen
obstacles. Then the veterans and J
their guests will be regaled with
excellent music played by Metz's
bard, Charleston's famous musical
aggregation, and the unveiling exercises
of course will be interesting
and appropriate.
Let every veteran and all who!
want to honor the soldiers of the
Confederacy, living and dead, get
ready to come to Kmgstree on Memorial
day, May 10. t

Editor County Record:?I had the
pleasure of s peaking an hour or
two in your growing town last Monday
and was much pleased, not only
to meet several old friends, but to
note the many happy improvements

your town refuses to stop her,

while the pulsasions the hydraulic

ging away, day and night, elevating

And I hear that a large new brick
church, in imitation of grey marble,
is to take the place of the
Methodist church on North Academy
street, and to have elevated back
seats, so as to enable all to see
, above the five-foot periphery of the
Easter paraphernaliathat adorns the
brows of the fair-sex. I know such
a happy condition will enliven and
j encourage the congregation to a
full attendance. The thought is a
good one, and I hereby notify our
building committee and all hands,
that we insist on a similar arrangement
in the floor and seats of our
, new church to be built near Muddy
J Creek bridge, just across from
Possum Fork.
