Mr Peace is an energetic railroad employee, holding a responsible position with the GeorgeV^vn & Western Railroad company. ?r *e marriage ceremony was periled by Notary Public W S i^mlin of West Andrews at the beautiful home of Mr and Mrs G C Grier. Quite a crowd of the young and older people of this town were I* present and the bridal couple were the recipients of showers of congratulations. Mr Peace, the groom, is being felicitated by every one on being the lucky one to win so charming a bride, Miss Mel lie having been considered the belle of the . Community, besides being a graduI ate of one of the best * female colT leges of the State. The writer wishes this popular couple a long and happy life. Dr T R Howell is attending the unfortunate man and is doing all in his power to alleviate his suffering. Hon John S Graham spent a few hours in town last Saturday to meet his daughter, who has been teaching school above Lake City. Quite a crowd of our town folks, both young and old, attended a hot supper at the home of Mr R C Marshall last Friday night. This entertainment was given for the benefit of the Spring Gully school. We have been informed that the handsnmp sum of $57.00 was realized. This was due to the efforts of Miss Minnie Marshall, the principal of the Spring Gully school. Miss Marshall is one of the best teachers of our county. When a school can secure such a teacher watch it take on new life. Subscriber. Death of Mrs. G. H. Jordan. Scranton, March 18:?Mrs G H Jordan of Cowards, Florence county, died to-day at 11 o'clock at her residence after ten days of extreme illness of pneumonia. Mrs Jordan was 35 years of age. She was a de voted wife, a patient and loving mother and a most pious Christian lady, much beloved by all who knew her. She is survived by four small children, the youngest being three months old. The hot supper which was given Friday night at the Indian town Graded school building for the benefit of thi. school was liberally patronized not only by the people of the community, but several other sections were represented, including Rome, Prospect and Cedar Swarhp. ' Ths affair was a pronounced success both socially and financially, the proceeds amounting to nearly $80. An excellent supper was served, the menu including barbecue, turkey and other delicacies, which the good ladies of old Indiantown know so well how prepare. The Indiantown school is enjoying one of the most prosperous periods of its history and is a potent factor in the development and up-building of the community. The able faculty is composed of three young ladies, viz: Miss Huggin, principal, and Misses Piatt and Little, assistants. The teachers and patrons of the school return thanks to the public for the liberal patronage given their entertainment. Mortuary.
