Mrs. V. N. Jacobs Entertains.
On last Thursday evening Mr and
Mrs W N Jacobs entertained at
cards in honor of their guest, Miss
Ida Ford of Georgetown. Progressive
"set-back" was played and time
passed very swiftly over the fascinating
tables. After twelve games
were played the prizes were awarded
to Miss Marie Gregg and Mr E L
Montgomery, who won eight games
each. The booby prizes were awarded
bo Miss Agness Erckmanu and Mr
A C Hinds, who won three and two
games, respectively.
Light refreshments were served
after the awarding of the prizes.)

Friday ot last week and
the profits of the year's business
were very gratifying indeed
to the stock-holders. A
good dividend was paid, besides

Congress has voted down the bill
to change the date for the inauguration
of the President from
March 4 to the last Thursday in
April. Another pending bill to
fix the date for the second Tuesday
in January will probably be defeated.
