Both parties live near Greelyville. It se2ms that Barfield was returning from Greelyville Friday evening and stopped at the home of Mr Colin Ard, the father of Julius Ard, and while there started to raise a disturbance, being uuder the influence of liquor, and when Julius Ard remonstrated with him, he started toward Julius with a knife. d the latter picked up a fence rail and struck him down with it. With assistance Barfield was able to walk to his home, about lj miles distant, and lived until Saturday afternoon.
