Saturday. The largest crowd attended
thi* show that ever went to a
circus from this town. The town of
Andrews sold neatly Stit'O worth of
ticket* ovei the ( & W railroad, the
road giving round trip tickets for
oue fare. Saturday was a prosperous
day for the (I A W,handling this
big show and the crowds attending
it.
Mr W H Andrews, the superintendent
of the (i A* W railroad, tells
us that he will in the next few weeks
erect an up-to-date station building at
West End of the town of Andrews
for the accommodation of the patrons
of the read in this community. The
structure will be built on the south
side of the railroad track from where
the old depot now stands. The new
building, when completed, will do
credit to our new town. This calls
forth many thanks from our people
to Sunt Andrews for his many efforts
now being made f??r the upbuilding
of this town. \
The election will be held here for
the selection of four wardens and au
intendant on Saturday, October 23.
We hope to see the officers take hold
with a full determination to develop
our town to the highest possible degree.
Let us all put our shoulders to
the wheel, man to man, and hold up
the hands of our town officials, help,
log their every undertaking,and with
the right men in office, added to the
co-operation of our citizens, I see the
dawn of prosperity for this communis
ity.

The State Fair is approaching
and preparations are being made
for a bigger fair than ever. The
opening day is November 1 and
the fair will last for six days. On
November 6 President Ta?t will
visit Columbia and will address
those who are here then. The address
will be one of the features of
the fair and other attractions are:
The Clemson-Carolina football
game, a ntunl>er of meetings of
importance, and letter entertainments
than the authorities
have been able to secure in any
previous year.

by dropping the Treasurer a postal i
asking for the amount of their taxes so
as-to avoid sending the wrong amount,

poll or road tax, or both, are wanted.
Alter paying taxes examine your receipts
and see if all of your property is
covered. If not, see about it at once.
