Judge Hudson was born in Chester
on January 29, 1*32.
Besides Mrs Williams, the daughter
at whose home he died, he leaves

The body will be taken to Bennettsville
to-morrow afternoon at

ernor Ansel. There is nothing to be
i done in the matter unless the threat
is carried out, and then there may be
interesting developments. It is stated
that other county boards have exI
pressed themselves likewise as to the
construction of "immediately'* in i
the act. If the situation should be- 1
come serious, it would go to the
courts for settlement.
Stating that he had received Gen
Lyon's opinion in regard to opening the
dispensaries after the election, or i
"immediately after," Dr Robertson ^
said. "Gen Lycn's opinion is not law 1
?and I shall pay no attention to It.
I can read and understand a law as
' well as Uen Lyon, ana ir ne nas no ,
more sense than his decision indi'
cates, we have an exceedingly weak {
' man for Attorney General. Any in'
telligent school boy with common !
sense can read that act and underr
stand it. I have heard the opinion of ,
J several lawyers, who are far superior
r to Gen Lyon in intelligence, making
sport of his opinion. Iu fact, it is a
t laughing joke with intelligent men.
What difference does it make whetber
a county goes wet or dry? The
dispensaries will contiuue to sell the
drys until the 15th of November and
wets longer. The ie3ult has nothing
~ to do with the opening of the dispensaries.
And I have legal advice
to pay no attention to Lyon's decision,
and so far as I am coucerned I
e am going to open on the 18th of August,
unless the other members of the
1 board oppose it. It matters not with
f me how this county votes, but I pror
