Dr .1 F Ilaselden of Greelyville was in Kingstree Monday and favored The Record with a pleasanc call. The Farmers' Warehouse has employed Mr W P McGill for the season. He will be glad to see his friends. Dr and Mrs W J Cottingham of Uultna, Ala, visited the former's sister, Mrs J B Steele, here Saturday. Mr A M l'erry of Kentucky, who will aui^tioneer oh the Kingstree tobacco market this season, is here. Mr Louis Walker, buyer for the American Tobacco Co on this market, will arrive in town the last of the week. Mr W P Bnll of St. Augustine, Fla, visited friends here several days this week. Mr Bull was formerly foreman of The Record office. Mrs W L Taylor is visiting her parents in Atlanta, Ga, while the Doctor is spending some days with his parents in in Greelyville. The special committee appointed by the prohibitionists to arrange for a county campaign for the purpose of discussing before the people the great and important question of prohibition or dispensary has arranged for meet ings at the following places and dates, and it is suggested that the friends of our cause, and those opposed, so far as that goes, carry out lunch and have a picnic; and we invite those who favor the dispensary to meet with us and let's discuss this matter as friends and neighbors, as in this way it is to be hoped that we can settle this question once for all. The meetings will be as follows: Trio, Wednesday, July 28. Kingstree, Friday, August 6. Greelyville, Saturday, AuI gust 7. Morrisville, Tuesday, August 10. Johnsonville, Thursday, August 12. The Atlantic Coast Line railroad crew has been busy here for the past week putting down the new. heavy rails in place of the old ones. The new rails, they claim, weigh 80 pounds to the yard, while the weight of the old ones replaced was only 65 pounds to the yard.
