His many friends were glad to hear of "Doc's" having passed successfully all of his third session "exams." The Lambert school, taught by Mrs S G Varncr of Virginia, closed Friday, May 7, with ** picnic after a successful six months' session. A few friends and patrons of the school were present and enjoyed the programme, which consisted of hymns, recitations, songs and dialogues. After the exercises all present partook of a bountiful dinner consisting of all the delicacies of the cuisine. The patrons surprised the teacher with a lish fry and the teacher the pupil3, as well as all the rest, with strawberries aud cream. I have given this matter considerable thought and have decided to give the people of each district an opportunity to nominate their trustee*. I therefore designate Saturday, May 29. eleven o'clock a m, as the time for all patrons and qualified electors in the various school districts to meet at some suitable place in each district for the purpose of nominating trustees and discussing such other matters of educational interest as they see proper. I hereby request the present trustees of the several districts to name the place of meeting in their district, and to advertise said meetings by posting in public places not fewer than three notices for the small districts and not fewer than five for the large districts, and that one of the trustees act as chairman of the meeting.
