visiting teachers by the teachers of
the schools aud colleges of Columbia,
Thursday afternoon, December
30, in the lobby and library. Music
will form an interesting part of
each evening programme, Misses
"'Nance and Selby have been appointthe
head of the committees of
the afternoon reception and music,
while Col A R Banks heads the general
receDtion committee. Although
thejcrowd will be large ample hotel
accomodation at reasonable rates

ginneries are announced in the
census bureau report issued to-day,
summarizing the cotton ginned from
the growth of 1908 up to November

26,521 active ginneries for the corresponding
date last year. The report
counts round as half bales and excludes
linters.
