(IN HONOR OF A BRIDE ELECT. Hiss Mamie Jaeobs Entertained Friends of the Bride and Groom. Miss Mamie Jacobs entertained most charmingly on Thursday afternoon, November 5th, in honor of the bride-elect. Miss Bessie Kelley. Each guest wasj |B told to bring with her her' favorite cooking recipe and a souvenir cook book made of paper hearts tied together with V white ribbon was presented to j W the guest of honor at the end of | I the afternoon, tilled with the I favorite recipes of all the guest* I present with the names signed ! to each. The amusement of the afternoon took the form of a musical courtship contest. Kach guest was provided with a pencil and a paper heart, and then Miss Barbara Jacobs read aloud the questions, which were numbered and Miss Florrie Jacobs played a few bars of a popular song, the title of which formed the answer to the question. The questions and answers which made the story of the courtship (were as follows: "What was her name?" "Iola'" "Where was her home" "San Antonio." "Where did they become engaged?" "College life." "Where was most of the courting done?" "Down in the old ? cherry orchard." I "What did he say to her?" i "Love me and the world is mine" j "How did she reply?" "How many girls have you told that . to?". "What did he assure her?" "One'little, sweet little girl." "What did she say then?" "J like you, too." "How long did he promise to love her?" "As long as the world rolls on." "When she asked him why he) I loved her, what did he say?" Because it's you." J "When were thev married?" "Summertime." 'Who was the bridesmaid?" "Juanita." 'What flowers did she carry?" "Bridal roses." "Where did they spend their honeymoon?" "Mid the green fields of Virginia." -What did he call her?" "My very own." "What did she call him?" "Honey boy." "When he was away, how did she spend her time?" "Dreaming." ^ "What did she gain in time?'' "Experience " "When asked by his bachelor friends to go out at night, what did he say?" "My wife won't let rae." "When they quarrelled, what did she say?"' "Would you care if I should leave you?" "What did he reply?" "0, dry those tears." i At the end of the contest it was found that Mrs Nappie Jacobs had more correct answers than any one eise, and to her was awarded the tirst prize, a large dishpan, while to Miss Erc^mann tell tne ooooy prize, a cooking spoon. Both Jadies gracefully presented there useful articles of house-keeping to the bride-elect. The guests were then shown into the dining room where an elaborate course supper was served. The table was beautifuly decorated with pink ch^san- j themums and maidenhair ferns and little bonbon dishes of pink and white heart-shaped mint -imy" drops effectively carried out the ' , color scheme and the significant fc heart design. The bride-elect's chair was tied with bows of white ribbon as was the tiny souvenir suit case at her place. There was one of these miniature suit cases for each guest and all were filled with rice which at an agreed upon signal was all thrown upon the brideto-be.
