They watch the kidneys and cure
them when they're sick.
W K White, living on South
Boundry St, Manning, S C, says:
"I suffered from kidney complaint
for some years. I was forced to
arise frequently during the night on
account of the too frequent action of
the secretions and I also had severe
backaches aad sharp pains across
my loins. At times I was so lame
and stiff that I could hardly turn
over in bed and mornings I found
it very difficult to dress myself. If
I sat down for a little while I could
hardly arise and had been in this
s: condition for a long time without
finding a remedy that would help
me until I procured Doan's Kidney
Pills. I used but oue box when
the pains were banisfced and the
lameness aud soreness disappeared.
I do not have to get up nights to
the secretions, and am feeling twenty
years younger. I highly recommend
Doan's Kidney Pills and can
say that I never U3ed a remedy that
gave me such prompt relief."

Most people go through life on a
short allowance of ozone and a
surfeit of food. We eat too much,
and breathe too little.
^ife is combustion?the digestive
tract is a boiler. And as oxygen is
necessary to fire, so it is to life. The
Value of exercise in the open air lies
in the fact that it is getting a goodly
draft of oxygen through your system,
and this forced draft is both eliminating
refuse and burning up the
Jag.
These things are all so trite and
?\ true that it seems silly to write
^ them out for cultured people, and
yet cultured and educated people are
sick quite as much as are the other
kind. In fact, more so, since
necessity is often removed, and the
person has the privilege of going to
bed in the morning, getting up when
he pleases, eating a multiplicity of
dishes that set up an internecine
war, giving the saw-buck absent
treatment, and forcing or bribing
other folks to wait on him.

BIG STAKE RACES
AT STATE FAIR
For th? First Time South Carolina
Gets Stake Races-Bif
Entries.
Columbia, S. C.?(Special.)?In all the
!tfe of the State Fair? forty years? j
there have never been anything like
the races that are scheduled for this? ;
year. The fair opens October 26th and 1
loses October 30th. There will be four
lays of racing. Already Ave stake
races have been arranged for trotters' ]
vnd pacers. Purses will be offered for
.oth harness and running horses.
Between 16,000.00 and J7.000.00 has
l .?cen offered as prises for these races.
The attractive prises, together with the
[ act that so many of the Northern and
Kaatern tracks have had trouble with
the racers, will make the entries here
.'air week the best aggregation of fast
horses ever seen anywhere In the !
Strings of horses from the most re- |
nowned stables In the country will be
here fair week. With the races nearly
two months off, the entries for the
I stake races oounted up to ninety-three,
and It Is expected that more than a
hundred of America's finest racers will
be entered for the stake races.
The purse races will be much above
the average this year. More money Is
offered and better horses will be raced.
The track has been put In apple pie
order and the grandstands enlarged
and reworked. This was necessary to
accommodate the immense crowds that
will witness all of the races during fair
week, this being the first of the series
in the Virginia-Carolina Circuit.
There will be other sports. Davidson
College plays Clemson on Wednesday,
and the University of South Carolina
plays Davidson College on Thursday.
Mr. r. c. Keenan will have the races
In charge, and he knows his business.
President. Mobley expects the races
this year to bring people to the fair
from every part or the State and from
manjr surrounding States.
