Sunday af'ernoon, August !>. On
I- that day, about 7 p in., one Albert
Bellanv and Charlie Seott got in a |'
row over the wages each was getting

killing him instantly. Scot: was 1
employe"?Mr \V S Cauilin, Ir's.,

regarded him as one of the best'ne- |
groes in the community. Albert
Hauna (B-.llauv?) is a brother of
Dave IIauna, who some ten years ago'
when only 15 years old shot and '
killed his father near Birch creek.:'

Those Hanna negroes are a ties- \
i perate set and this is a case of cold
I blooded murder, although Hau.ia ,
k and some of his friends are trying!
W to make a case of self defence out |
J of it.
This is the second murder that i
has been committed at Rosemary
within the past two months. Some :
thirty days ago the bones, or skele-;
ton of a man were found bv some !
hunters in a bay about l'00 feet!
from the machine shops and depot1
at Rosemary. This murder took
place very nearly in the same plajv. {
Tile negro race is fast returning to j
a savage state and in forty years
they will kill one another worse!
| thau wild beasts. They are also be\
coming a scourceof great annoyance
to the wh te people in this neighborhood,
the way they kill each other.
I There have been 5 or 6 brutal mur'
ders and no one punished.
Coroner Parker held an inquest
over Scott's remains and a verdict
was rendered that Scott came to his
death by a blow from a club in the
hands of Albert Bellany. Bellanv
was arrested by Sheriff Scarry and
placed in Georgetown jail We hope
d to see this guilty party brought to
justice.
Mr Hugh Poston, a young business
man of Harper has just returned
from Georgetown where he has
been under medical treatment in a
hospital. His many friends are
I glad to tind him much improved
from his severe illness.
