The greatest educational revival
ever held in Williamsburg
county is now in progress-in the
Kingstree gradedX
ing.
We have en/ a tifty-four,
which is a>^ more than any
previous i ..ute has enrolled;
but we feel safe in saying- there
has been at least sixty per cent
increase in the interest shown
and work done by the institute.
The teacher-pupils have been
greatly encouraged and bene'
tited beyond the expectation of
all by the many stirring and
inspiring lectures delivered by
our most efficient instructors,
Miss Nance and Mr Mitchell.
Too much can't be said about
the grand work they are doing.
Visit Miss Nance's room from
8:45 to 10:30 and listen to her
lectures on pedogogy, civics and
current, events, and if you don't
believe in educational work you
can't be converted. Next, Miss
Domiuick will entertain you in
ber drawing department. Here
she has worked miracles* To
verify this statement look on. the
walls at the many drawings
made by beginners,then youll be
convinced o'f the work Miss
Dominick isdoing.Now, visitors*
I am. sure you'll not be satis&ed
to leave before hearing Mr
Mitchell discuss that very important
subject, English.

vices of such instructors, which
is due to-MrMcCullough's efforts.
We have had several visitors
ind, of course, we are always
fiappy to have our sympathetic
friends with us. Come again.
We were happy to-have with
us on Friday Hon Hartwell Ayer
from Florence. Mr Ayer made
a most thrilling address on
South Carolina History, which
was enjoyed very much indeed
by all. Everybody would like
to claim the honor of being a
csouui Carolinian aner nearing
one of Mr Ayer's addresses.
Monday we were entertained
at a sunset talk in the auditorium
by Misses Nance and
Dominick. Miss Dominick furnished
the music, and Miss
Nance read Dr S A Knapp's
noted address on "Rural Conditions."
Dr Knapp delivered
this address at Chick Springs
this spring. Miss Etta Jacobs,
who is just from Knoxville, gave
us a grand description as to how
they observed the Fourth of
July. We would like to hear
more from Miss Jacobs.
Tuesday morning we had with
us Hon T M Gilland and Hon
C W Wolfe. Mr Wolfe made a
very fine talk on rural schools.
Tuesday afternoon from 6:30
to 7: 30 Misses Nance and Domi..
nick entertained the teachers
at the school building1. It will
be sufficient to say that every
body went away feeling very
happy?thanks to Misses Nance
and Dominick.
